This cake is so delicious and perfect for breakfast, as a snack with coffee, and is great to bring to any large gathering.
Ingredients
CRUMB TOPPING:- 4 cups flour
- 2 1/2 cups sugar
- 1/4 cup cinnamon
- 4 sticks room-temp butter
- TO MAKE THE CAKE:
- 2 sticks unsalted butter
- 2 cups sugar
- 3 cups cake flour
- 4 eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 3 tsps. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Directions/Steps
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Spray 14 1/2 in. round baking pan
- First make the crumb topping by putting the flour, sugar, cinnamon, and butter in a bowl.
- mix with your hands until the ingredients are crumbled. SET OFF TO SIDE
- TO MAKE THE CAKE:
- Cream butter in a large bowl. Gradually add sugar, creaming until light ad fluffy.
- Sift in flour with the baking powder and salt.
- Add the eggs one at a time.
- Slowly add in milk and flavoring until all is blended. Pour into sprayed pan.
- Bake the cake for 10 min.
- Take cake out, spread the crumb topping all over the half-baked cake.
- Once the cake is completely covered with crumb topping, put it back to bake for about 20 min or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let cake cool
