Thick Bacon Topped Baked Beans

Ingredients
  1. 3 cans (28 ounces each) baked beans
  2. 1 cup packed (divided) Imperial Sugar Light Brown Sugar
  3. 1 large onion, finely chopped
  4. 1/2 cup ketchup
  5. 2 tablespoons molasses
  6. 2 teaspoons yellow mustard
  7. 1/2 teaspoon salt
  8. 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  9. 4  slices thick bacon, cut in half
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 400°F.
  2. Combine beans, 3/4 cup of brown sugar, onion, ketchup, molasses, mustard, salt and pepper in a 3-quart casserole dish.
  3. Dredge bacon in remaining 1/4 cup brown sugar. Place strips on top of beans.
  4. Bake for 3 hours or until sauce is thickened.
